The Architect of Las Vegas Hip-Hop

Larry "DJ Dantana" Jones is a Las Vegas-based DJ, entrepreneur, record label executive, media personality, and fashion brand founder with over 30 years in the hip-hop industry. As the founder of HipHop101FM and Dantana Music Entertainment, he has spent three decades building the infrastructure of Las Vegas hip-hop culture from the ground up — long before the rest of the world was paying attention.

Early Life & the Las Vegas Hip-Hop Underground

Dantana came up in Las Vegas during the golden era of West Coast hip-hop. Immersed in the culture from the beginning, he was a fixture at the legendary Club 662 — the same venue immortalized by Tupac Shakur — where he held an official 2Pac fitted hat from the era and was present at the 2Pac "All Eyez On Me" movie premiere in Las Vegas alongside LT Hidden, before the film dropped.

He took those early experiences and turned them into a mission: put Las Vegas hip-hop on the map.

Mentorship & Legacy

Among DJ Dantana's earliest contributions to Las Vegas hip-hop culture was his mentorship of two local DJs — DJ Tyke and DJ Tone Capone — who became respected figures in the city's DJ community. Both have since passed. Their memory lives in every event Dantana produces. Rest in power. 🕊️

Club Utopia — First Hip-Hop Club on the Las Vegas Strip

DJ Dantana made history when he brought hip-hop to the Las Vegas Strip. Club Utopia — owned by David Cohen — became the first hip-hop club on the Las Vegas Strip, with DJ Dantana and HipHop101FM at the helm. The weekly events drew national artists, industry executives, and thousands of fans — proving Las Vegas was a hip-hop city.

It was at Club Utopia that Dantana formalized his Def Jam connection, signing in the presence of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather — a defining moment in Las Vegas hip-hop history.

HipHop101FM — We Break Records

As founder of HipHop101FM, DJ Dantana created Las Vegas' premier hip-hop media platform. What began as the Hip Hop 101 show on Vegas RAW Radio (Wednesdays, 7–9PM, with Big Koop & Azazla Zetanica) grew into a full broadcasting and events brand that has broken artists, amplified culture, and represented Las Vegas hip-hop for decades.

Dantana Music Entertainment & LV Fitted

Today, Dantana Music Entertainment is the parent label and entertainment company behind a growing roster of artists — including Lexy Love and MoonChild Shayla — and the exclusive home of LV Fitted Las Vegas, the premium black & silver streetwear brand born in Las Vegas.

With the LA 2028 Olympics on the horizon, LV Fitted is preparing a USA Olympic collection that will introduce Las Vegas street culture to a global audience.

In Memory — Parrish Jones / #PJizzleFilmz 🕊️

This journey is dedicated in part to DJ Dantana's brother, Parrish Jones — known to the world as #PJizzleFilmz — a creative force and beloved family member who passed away in a motorcycle accident. His spirit, his lens, and his love for the culture lives in everything Dantana builds.

In January 2026, the hip-hop world also lost the Vice President and producer behind Rock the Bells — another giant taken too soon. These losses are not forgotten. They are fuel.

#Undrafted — The Film

Behind every empire is a story the world almost never heard. For three months, DJ Dantana faced homelessness — quietly, without excuses — while continuing to build HipHop101FM, Dantana Music Entertainment, and LV Fitted from the ground up. It was Chaffey College's financial aid office that stepped in, heard his story, and provided the funding that helped turn the tide.

That story — raw, real, and triumphant — is now a film: #Undrafted.
