The Origin — Vegas RAW Radio
Before HipHop101FM had a name, it had a mission. DJ Dantana launched the Hip Hop 101 radio show on Vegas RAW Radio — a weekly two-hour program dedicated to hip-hop education, culture, and Las Vegas music. Broadcasting every Wednesday from 7PM–9PM alongside Big Koop and Azazla Zetanica, and produced by Dantana Entertainment and Thompson & Thompson Production, the show became the heartbeat of Las Vegas hip-hop before the city even had a lane for it.
The concept was simple and radical at the same time: give Las Vegas hip-hop its own voice.
Club Utopia — Hip-Hop Comes to the Strip
DJ Dantana didn’t wait for the industry to come to Las Vegas. He brought hip-hop to the Las Vegas Strip himself. Club Utopia — owned by David Cohen — became the first hip-hop club on the Las Vegas Strip, with HipHop101FM providing the soundtrack.
What started as a weekly event grew into a cultural institution. National artists, industry executives, and thousands of fans packed Club Utopia for events that proved Las Vegas was more than a fight town — it was a hip-hop city.
It was here that DJ Dantana cemented his Def Jam connection, signing in the presence of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather — a moment that put Las Vegas hip-hop on the national map.

HipHop101FM’s reach grew far beyond the airwaves. DJ Dantana built press credentials and partnerships that gave Las Vegas hip-hop national visibility:

The next chapter is the biggest yet. On October 15, 2026, DJ Dantana brings HipHop101FM back to Club Utopia Las Vegas for the HipHop101FM Takeover 2026 — the official launch of LV Fitted Las Vegas and the release of the LV Fitted Mixtape Vol. 3.
With the LA 2028 Olympics on the horizon, HipHop101FM and LV Fitted are positioned to take Las Vegas hip-hop culture to the world stage.
